SONY FE 85mm 1.4 GM

Rented this lens for a portrait gig and the f/1.4 aperture let me shoot in near darkness with beautiful background blur. It nailed focus on every shot even with moving subjects. Was sad to return it.

I used this 85mm f/1.4 for a weekend portrait session and the bokeh at its widest aperture is incredibly smooth, even in tricky light. The rental copy was in great condition, with a solid, precise focus ring that made manual adjustments a breeze.

I was worried the f/1.4 would be too soft wide open for video, but the autofocus locked on smoothly even in dim lighting and the bokeh was buttery. Renting it for a day shoot was totally worth it, though I wish the rental period had a longer grace window for returns.
