ZEISS CP2 28MM T2.1 EF (FF)

The focus ring is buttery smooth, which makes pulling focus feel effortless even on a quick handheld setup. Rented it for a weekend shoot and the close focus distance saved me when I needed those tight inserts without swapping lenses.

This 28mm prime is sharp as a tack even wide open at T2.1, and the focus ring has that smooth, dampened feel you expect from a proper cinema lens. Rent it for a weekend shoot, and you’ll see the difference in your footage right away.

For a quick corporate interview, this 28mm T2.1 gave me that shallow depth-of-field look without breaking the bank on a rental. The focus ring felt smooth and precise, making pulls easy even in a cramped office.
